The Blush Guide: The Right Blush for Your Skin Tone

Spring is here… and so the bright colors are emerging everywhere, including on your cheeks. But is that color washing you out? Or making you look just messy altogether? Finding your perfect everyday shade is hard to do. But, hopefully, this guide will help you decide. Find out more after the jump.

For me, I reach for the natural look a lot, as do other ladies. Usually, you want to achieve a natural look with your blush. A way to find your natural blush color, go for a jog or hang upside-down for a minute or two. Then, after you see the blood in your cheeks, you can see a general color your blush would be. If you find it unsuitable for your skin, that’s what blush is for. J

Let's get down to colors. If you don't want me to totally dictate what you get right here, right now, I'll start out loosely. You want to pick colors that match your undertones, warm with warm, cool with cool, ect. Don't know how to find your undertones? Shocker, I didn't even know they existed up until 5 months ago. This will save your life.

Here's where you're lost at the makeup aisle/counter, and you have no idea what to pick. Like, OMG, there are way too many colors!!! Cue crying in the corner. Yeah, I only do that once a week at minimum. It's okay. ;) So, now that you know what undertone you have, you have an idea of what I'm about to say.

-Orange or reddish pink blushes should go with people who have yellow undertones.

-Light pinks/peach or mocha colors are good for pink or red undertones.

-Bright oranges or pinks show up best for plum/blue undertones.

There is your guide. Tah-dah. Isn't it amazing? ;) Now go out there and get some blush! Because it does everyone a little good.

Your rambling beauty addict,

Mai
